Collegiate Objectives

Most people think that college has one purpose, to prepare you for a career. That is the main reason that I am at Western Michigan, but there are some other reasons as well. High school was rough, there is no denying that. I had a difficult time making friends and I was never the smartest. So I also came to college to make a fresh start. Try and make some friends and do well in school. I am doing pretty well on the making friends’ part. I have made friends that I feel will remain my friends for some time. The school aspect of it is a bit more difficult than I had expected.  

For my career, I want to become a Personal Financial Planner. In high school, I excelled in the business classes I took. From Introduction to Business in grade 9, to Business Administration in grade 12. Business was always my specialty. So I would like to learn how to help people plan, save, and invest their money. I have joined a business association that I feel will help prepare me for a world of finance. The Financial Management Association (FMA).  I am hoping that the FMA will help expose me to tools that will help me succeed in college and my life beyond.
