Your party

Much like the beloved children’s game Oregon Trail, you’re going to need to travel in groups if you’re going to survive. Below is a suggested list of people to take with you on your travels in order to increase your chances of survival.

-Doctor, or some kind of medical student.
-This includes nurses, nursing students, or anyone with some sort of knowledge about the human body (if they have access to the “little black book, even better, that should be a key item to bring with you.
-Even though once bitten you cannot be saved (except in the cases of immediate amputation of the affected limb, followed by at least 24 hours of constant surveillance), having a nursing student will help with other ailments, cuts inflicted from defense wounds, or broken limbs.

-Mechanic
-The mechanic, or mechanically inclined will be another invaluable resource to your party. Abandoned cars will litter the sides of roads, and with a little work, these could all become your future methods of escape/zombie destruction.   Someone with a knowledge of cars, boats or other machinery will be able to help should your vehicle break down in a compromising spot, or if you need a method of transportation They are also great at changing tires quickly.

-Handy-man
-If you’re lucky, the mechanic can also double as a handy man/woman(no   discrimination!) These people will be infallible when you need a quick shelter, or you need to MacGyver up a weapon quickly from only materials around you. Great people to know are Engineers, or those with a strong grasp on physics.

-Military personnel
-anyone who has undergone military training, ROTC or military school. These people will have a good sense of structure, leadership, and will be quick thinkers under pressure. They will be invaluable in setting up attacks upon hordes of zombies. These people will know how to handle weapons, and their strategic minds will help aid in your survival. Listen to their advice, but remember that your survival depends on trusting your instincts.

So how do you ensure that you find thesse people to join you? Your best bet is to find a college town as quickly as the outbreak happens (like, say, Western Michigan University!) Your chances of finding someone who has studied these (and studied them very recently) is much much higher! The longer you wait to get to a town, the more likely these people will scatter, or team up with one another. Make sure you let other people know about your skills! You may be the one that saves another group from certain doom.
