POSITION: Full-time
tenure track faculty joint appointment in the department of education and a
department in the natural sciences.

QUALIFICATIONS: Earned
doctorate in education, science education or a related field. Licensure and experience in science
education at the middle and/ or secondary levels (middle level licensure
preferred) as well as licensure in a specific area of secondary science
(preferably physics and/ or earth/space science).
Experience in integrating computer technology into teaching and
learning, ideally in a leadership/ training capacity. Familiarity with new technologies and track record of being
current and anticipating future trends, including online teaching.
Candidate must be committed to the liberal arts educational
mission and evangelical Christian orientation of the university and demonstrate
commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, mentoring students, and
scholarship. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to contribute to Bethelšs
anti-racism efforts and cross-cultural understanding.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching courses in science education and educational
technology. Teaching assignments
will likely include: science
concepts courses; science methods and curriculum; education technology; student
teaching and middle level practicum supervision and seminars. The position may also include working
with Master of Arts in Teaching students, and advising the department on
integration of technology.
General faculty responsibilities will include student advising,
and department and committee assignments.
COMPENSATION: Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and
experience.
