* Teach science education methods courses to preservice teachers;

* Teach other general elementary education courses, depending on qualifications and need;

* Establish a scholarly research and publication record aligned with a Research Extensive University;

* Supervise student teaching and other field experiences;

* Provide advising for undergraduate and graduate students;

* Teach in masters and doctoral programs in elementary education or science education;

* Provide support and advising to graduate students engaged in research and graduate programs;

* Assist in department and College outreach.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Earned doctorate in Elementary Education, Science, Science Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field with an emphasis in K-6 Science Education; proven scholarly research and publication record associated with a Research Extensive University or the potential to establish a record; commitment to innovation and collaboration in working with schools and university colleagues; and must qualify for K-6 teaching license in North Carolina.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Minimum of three years experience in K-6 schools or equivalent settings such as government or private institutions, zoos, museums, or aquariums specializing in science education; and expertise in teaching with technology.
