Assistant Professor Position
The Department of Mathematics and Science Education at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Science Education Program at the assistant professor level. We are seeking an individual with a doctoral degree in science education or closely related field and a strong background in one of the natural sciences. Teaching experience in science at the precollege level is preferred. The successful candidate should have demonstrated the potential to be a productive scholar at the highest levels within the field of science education. In addition, experiences that provide evidence of an ability to teach courses leading to secondary science certification are highly desired.

Assistant/Associate Professor, Applied Cognition and Development Department of Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology
A joint position in the Department of Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology and the Mathematics and Science Education Department.
Qualifications: A doctorate in educational psychology, developmental psychology, mathematics education, science education, or a related field by August 2007 is required, along with research skills in quantitative or mixed methods, publications applying psychology to mathematics or science education, and evidence of external funding potential. School teaching experience is desirable.
Responsibilities: An active research program applying psychology to mathematics or science. An emphasis on motivation is desirable. The candidate will actively seek external funding for large scale, quantitative projects; teach graduate and undergraduate courses; direct graduate students in the MA and PhD programs; and provide service to the institution and profession.
