Assistant or Associate Professor of Elementary Science Education

The Watson School seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Elementary Science Education to join our Department of Elementary, Middle Level, and Literacy Education in fall 2007 to:


       Develop and teach campus-based, extension and on-line courses in the undergraduate and graduate elementary education programs

       Assist in ongoing program revision and assessment

       Maintain an active research agenda in elementary education

       Provide leadership and service to our school, university, region, state and to the profession through active participation in national/international associations


Requirements include: Doctorate in elementary education or related field with an emphasis in science, eligible for or currently hold the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, a record of scholarly productivity, evidence of K-6 public school and college level teaching excellence (live and technology enhanced), eligible for North Carolina licensure in the appropriate area and a strong commitment to and experience in B-12 partnership approaches.
