Disposition

To me, being a teacher is more then just teaching. Its about forming relationships with your students so they have someone to look up too. Being a teacher is also about seeing your students progress and knowing that you as their teacher had a hand in how far they have come.

I'll never forget what a teacher I was aide for once told me. She said, “You think that we are teaching them, but really they are the ones teaching us.”

Patience is probably the most important quantity a teacher can have. Especially being a special education teacher. I don't know how many times someone has asked me what I'm going into and when I tell them Special Education they say “wow, you must be a really patient person.” I also hear, “it takes a special person to do a job like that.”
