So far I am really happy with my choice of major. I really enjoy the topic of special education and learning about different disabilities. I also enjoy my Early Childhood minor because I love working wit young kids. As for my Group Social Studies minor, it just gets in the way, but I have to do it.
Education courses I have taken
I attended a community college for my first two years so there were very few education classes I could take. The classes I have taken include: Children's Literature, Music for Elementary Teachers, Art Education.
Courses I am currently taking
Introduction to Special Education, Classroom Management, Consultation and Communication in Special Education, Classroom Practicum in Special Education, Young Children, Their Families, and Their Society, and Technology for Elementary Teachers.
Experience working with children
I've really only had two profound experiences working with children. One was my senior year of high school working at Blossomland Learning Center as a teacher's aide. The other is right now in my classroom practicum at The Learning Center in Lawrence .
