Resource #1 Internet Glossary

On the Kid Domain website I found a great resource called “An Internet Glossary” which is located in the Safe Surfing Guide of the website. This Internet glossary contains basic terns that you will find on the internet. These terms would be great to use when introducing children to computers. They would be very useful for computer vocabulary. I would use this resource in the classroom by allowing the children to learn and understand the meaning to each word and then I would give them an activity where they would have to explore they computer and internet to find all the words in the they learned. The web address of this resource is http://www.kidsdomain.com/features/safesurf/gloss.html

Resource #2 Animated Beginning Typing

This resource titled Animated Beginning Typing I found in the Computer Toolbox section of the Kids Domain website. By using games, this program teaches young children how to type in a creative way. It also has the feature to display a report so students can see their progress with the program. This is an excellent program to use in the classroom because with the increasing use of computers in today’s modern world it is essential students learn at a young age typing techniques. I would allow students to spend a certain amount of time maybe three times a week and grade them on their progress. Resource #2 Net Librarian

Another resource I found was titled Net Librarian that I found in the Computer Toolbox Section of the Kid Domain website. This program provides students with large amounts of information by using major search engines. Students also have the freedom to print the information they found. This is a great tool to sue especially for the age group suggested which is 8 and up, because students at this level in school do a lot of research activities. I would use this program in a classroom by allowing students to research a topic and then having them write a report on what they learned about their topic. Resource #3 Lessons/Worksheets

My third resource is Lessons and Worksheets that provides resources for teachers about computers. This can be found in the Computers: Inside and Out Lessons of the Kid Domain website. I would use this resource to teach students about computers using the lessons provided. Then use the worksheets for that lesson to test the students on what they learned. I really like how they worksheets are formatted to Adobe Acrobat Reader so they are displayed to print more efficiently.
