My Personal Reflection

Deciding to major in education and minor in english and in early education was the
best decision that I ever made. Every course that I have taken has helped me further
my learning in education with the exceptions of a few pre requirements that I had to take.
But otherwise I believe that I will be a better teacher because of the classes that I took
I have taken music and art for elementary teacher, children literature, in math number
concepts, geometry, and probability and statistics. I am currently taking math
352, Ed 309 and 312 which is reading and physiology.

Examples of paper/projects

My children literature class had an assignment for everyone to create a portfolio from
nine new berry books that we all read and researched. This project gave me more
information and materials that I can use in my classroom that I could never even imagine.
I am very grateful for taking this course and having this particular teacher.

My art class for elementary teachers had us come up with lesson plans from different projects
every week. And the class decided to copy all their lesson plans for the whole class to have,
so I have over 100 lesson plans dealing with different kinds of art.

My geometry teacher had the class come up with lesson plans dealing with geometry, and had
everyone give copy's of their lesson plan to the whole class. So I have a nice portfolio all about
geometry and how to teach it.

I was very fortunate to take my music for elementary teacher with a wonderful teacher. She was
a great teacher and gave us great information about working in a classroom. One of our assignments
was to observe a classroom which I thought was very educational. Another was that we had to make
a portfolio for our future in teaching with music.

Examples of life experiences

I have a five year old son, and I teach him things everyday, how to sound out letter sounds, how
to write his name and the rest of the alphabet. When you have kids you are their teacher 24 hours
a day and 7 days a week. What ever you say and do with your child you are teaching them even if you
don't think you are.

Every Sunday my son and I go to Church, and afterward I am the Sunday School teacher for the
3-4 year olds. I find that this is a great experience for me, because I have lesson plans to go by.
Sometimes things don't go the way I like, But that is the case with every teacher no matter what
or where you teach.
