Work and Volunteer Experience
In High School I did not have very much time for a job. During High School I played soccer, was a swimmer, a diver, and Treasurer of Student Council. During the middle of 10th grade I became a tutor for a girl in 4th grade. Throughout the rest of my High School years I tutored her, even in the summer. When entering college in August 2006 I got my first real job as a hostess at Bob Evans. I worked at the Bob Evans in Kalamazoo from October 2006 until Summer 2007. At this time I went home and transferred to the Bob Evans in Woodhaven. Then when I went back to school in the fall I transferred back to the Bob Evans in Kalamazoo becoming a server. I worked there until November 2007. I decided it was time for me to find a job relating to my major. In January 2008 I became employed by Family and Children Services and currently work there.
Volunteering has always been a passion of mine. When I entered Western Michigan University in August 2006 I wanted to get involved in as many activities as possible. In Fall 2006 I joined Alpha Omicron Pi. Alpha Omicron Pi participates in many community service opportunities. Also, we have a philanthropy even of our own, Strike out Arthritis raising money for children with Juvenile Arthritis. In August 2007 I became a Fall Welcome Ambassador where I lead the incoming freshman around campus their first few days here at Western. In March 2008 I participated in Alternative Spring Break where we went to Memphis Tennessee to volunteer at the St. Jude's Research Hospital. My sophomore year of college I was involved in Drive Safe Kalamazoo. Lastly, I am an Alternative Winter Experience Site leader this upcoming December 2008.
