My passion for teaching began when I was an assistant in a classroom for children with autism. I was inspired by the bonds we formed and the progress the students made. My goal is to teach students of all abilities the tools to become successful in school and life. I returned to Western Michigan University in 2005 to pursue this goal. While at Western I was assigned to a variety of classrooms for field experience. I most enjoyed my time in a middle school resource room for children with learning disabilities. I will graduate in spring 2009 and look forward to using the skills I have aquired in my own classroom.
