Like many professions, the field of Outdoor Leadership and Experiential Education is ever changing.


With that ever changing knowledge it is important as a professional to stay up to date on the newest information including rules, regulations, techniques and equipment.


I find myself regularly checking these three sites for updated information, professional development opportunities and to feel connected to others in the field

The National Outdoor Leadership school is an organization that creates opportunities to young professionals in the field to gain experience.

NOLS offers, certification programs in many areas pertaining to the outdoors. Including wilderness first responder/EMT, wilderness therapy guide and survival skills.

In addition NOLS is a great resource for volunteering and career placement.

The Association for Experiential Education has afforded me many opportunities to better myself and my endeavor to become a successful outdoor and experiential educator.

The Association for Experiential Education offers extensive online resources including Webinars, articles, journals, links to careers and job placement resources.

AEE'S Annual and regional conferences designed to bring the community of educators together to learn from each other.

Pretty Lake Camp, Adventure center and Farm. Currently Celebrating 100 years, is a wonderful organization that is based right here in South West Michigan.

Pretty Lake offers many great programs for youth and adults alike in both in their camp, adventure center and organic farm.
