Collegiate Objective

Deciding to "go west" this fall was a major turning point in my life. I put it up as one most important decisions I have ever made. 2013 was a transitional year for me, and I went through a mental reconfiguration during the summer. I realized that I would be moving away and would be away from my family for a long period for the first time. I also realized that I needed to make drastic changes in my life, as the way I was living was not pushing me forward. Putting personal problems aside, I figured that moving away would be the best option. Western Michigan University has a great business program, and that has always been my passion. I want to achieve my short-term goals, which includes getting at least a 3.5 GPA, being a healthier person both physically and mentally, and taking time to have fun. I’ve been told by friends that WMU is an amazing all-around package when it comes to a 4-year university.  I am happy that I will have more freedom living by myself, and learn what it is like to be self-reliant. School would be my main focus. I also wanted to meet new people and cement relationships that would last years after I graduate. My goals for my first semester are to put 100% effort in studying, to join clubs and activities around campus, and to meet people who have the same interests as me. My long-term goals are to get a financial position on Wall Street, to pay back my loans as well as my parents, and to purchase an Audi S8. I want be the person I visualize every day. I will have my finance degree in the next few years and then I can move on in life with great memories of Western Michigan University.
