Follow-Up and support from the Center for Teaching
and Learning (CTL):
The
center supports serious discussions on teaching and learning. Funds board appointed faculty initiatives
related
the scholarship of learning and other teaching enhancement activities. Provides on-going information
regarding
the above available on the internet and provides on-going workshops. Workshop attendees will
be
sent copies of the materials. CTL
director is always available by e-mail.
The director is available by
appointment
to answer questions face-to-face.
Director may form user groups of users who attended the
workshops
so the senior people who are expanding and advancing can help others. Faculty usually self-select
peers
to collaborate and congregate with, if they find they are doing something
similar. CTL tries to facilitate
this
also but can't force them to do anything.
They usually have to do it themselves.
Follow-Up
and support from the Instructional Technology Center (ITC):
ITC
provides one-on-one consultation with faculty, personal assistance with
projects, on-line resources and
development
work for instructional web resources and multi-media applications. On-going support is provided
through
the use of presentations, hand-outs, workshops and on-line tutorials as well as
discussions on pedagogy.
ITC
maintains a list of Faculty and Staff Course Pages so faculty member may see how
their peers are using the
web
as a teaching tool in their courses.
Additional follow-up and just-in-time support is provided to faculty by
the
technology coordinator of the department.
