Reporting Assignment

Write a 2-3 page, typed, hard news story based on your interviews, research, observations and other reporting.

- Focus on a campus or local/community event or issue. You must attend the event and you must personally conduct the interviews yourself. Do not cite information from websites.

- Interview at least three sources and include in your story. Be sure to include direct quotes.

- You may cover a public speech or lecture, but be sure to focus on what the speaker said in the lead.

- Be sure your story is newsworthy.

- Be sure your story has a unique and new angle.
