Welcome to my online home for myself, my writing, my teaching and research. I am a fiction and creative nonfiction writer who is actively writing and submitting. I am working on a number of things including short stories, a memoir and a novella. Like most writers though, I support myself in other ways. I am a visiting professor this year at Albion College in the English Department. I am also a second year PhD student in Curriculum, Teaching and Educational Policy at Michigan State University. My research interests include ways in which justice and equality are portrayed in Children and Adolescent literature. I am also interested in methods that would improve the interdisciplinary connections that exist between English and the social sciences and ways in which teachers can foster and develop these connections. Finally, I am interested in anything Harry Potter. I am married and have two wonderful girls and live in Kalamazoo, Michigan. As for now this is a work in progress.
