Although I feel that any class that I take in college is important because of what you gain out of it, I feel that some classes will help me prepare for my future employer more than others will. Specifically the courses that correspond to my major and general business courses will be of greatest importance:
BUS 175: Business
MKTG 250- An introductory course to marketing and its principles.
BUS 270: Info and Comm. Infrastructure- A course designed to provide, through a system approach, foundational knowledge about business information and communication infrastructures.
ECON 201 & 202- These two courses describe the foundation of macro and microeconomics and introduce its language and theories.
MKTG 360: Professional Selling- An introduction to the principles of selling. Includes study of selling in our present economy, analysis of the steps in a sales presentation, and a classroom demonstration.
MKTG 372: Purchasing Management- The organization and operation of the purchasing function, responsibilities and policies; problems confronting the purchasing department; relationships with other departments and suppliers.
MKTG 460: Advanced Selling Strategies- A course that examines advanced methods of questioning, customer need analysis and problem finding, creative solution development, computer-based sales planning, team selling, negotiation, and elements of time and territory management. Exercises, extensive role-playing and cases are used.
MKTG 470: Business Marketing Strategy- An advanced course in planning and implementing business-to-business marketing strategies with an emphasis on segmenting markets, managing channel relationships, and creating customer value through continuous improvement and re-engineering.
