Personal Goals:
On a personal level I am attending Western Michigan University to improve social skills and to meet people. Life is all about developing and keeping the relationships we make. My goals while attending WMU are to find out what interests me, and develop contacts with others whose interests lie in the same fields. I plan on keeping my friends from High School but would also like to interact with some people who share my career goals. I want to use the input (likes/dislikes) received from these like-minded individuals to shape my own future. Ultimately I hope to use these relationships to learn more about myself, and my abilities.
Professional Goals:
On a professional level I am attending Western Michigan University to obtain a lucrative career. I hope to get a degree in Human Resource Management and plan to graduate with a 3.25 GPA or higher. While attending school I want to become skilled in many facets of the business world from Economics to end-user computer systems. These skills will be a tremendous asset when it comes time to build my career. Furthermore my determination to succeed will propel me toward my objectives and I will not allow anything to hinder my progress.
I also plan on completing my classes in a professional manner. Throughout High School I was an extreme procrastinator. I got away with this because I was never challenged in High School (not a good thing). The transition from High School to University was not an easy one. It has taken me two semesters to realize the error of my ways and provide myself with enough time to complete the tasks asked of me. I feel I will succeed professionally because I have a new outlook upon my life. I have grown as both as a person and as a WMU student.
