This set of directions is intended to guide you through the process needed to construct a gingerbread house in the building shape of your choice. To better serve you, we have chosen Sprau Tower as an example structure. The more simple the structure you choose, the easier this project will be. If the directions are followed correctly your results will be a completed, edible model of your structure that will provide hours of fun in the process.
Included in the directions are the process of scaling down the building to make the pattern, making the gingerbread, cutting and baking the gingerbread, assembling the structure, and decorating it. A general knowledge of baking and fractions (in order to scale down the building and use the measuring cups) is required in order to complete this project. If not, this project may be more challenging for you. This website may be able to help direct you towards some of the more complicated baking terms. Make use of the visuals. They will help make the process easier to follow. Enjoy!
Note: Building a gingerbread structure will take more than one day because the dough needs to refrigerate for 24 hours.
Happy Holidays!
