Hello and welcome parents to Mr. Unangst's fifth grade classroom web site! I want to take this opportunity not only to welcome you but to also show you some of the things I've created for the classroom and up coming year. Below is a Kid Pix Movie that I created that tells a little more about myself, a sample of newsletter that you will soon be receiving, a paper that I have written, and some examples of life experiences while teaching children. Examples of Life Experiences:
- I've learned that not all students learn the same. It is then my duty to use different teaching techniques to my student's so that they may understand things more fully.
- I've learned that having good communication with parents and students makes for the best possible learning environment. It is then my duty to keep all available lined of communication open so that we may strive for everyone's personal best
- I've learned that being prepared makes for a smooth day. I come prepared everyday to teach class so I expect that the students come prepared everyday to learn and to have their affairs in order (homework, projects, etc.).

- Going to School : This web site from PBS Parents contains information for parents about what their fifth grade student should be learning. It touches on subjects such as Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, and Math.
- Common Questions : This web site contains common questions that parents have about their child entering fifth grade and what they should be learning. This web site also contains parent-to-parent forums where parents can talk to other parents about certain topics or questions.
- How They Grow : This web site contains information not on how a fifth grade student is growing physically, but how they are growing mentally. It talks about how a fifth grade student will become aware of peer/adult expectations, improve his/her communication skills, and how they will increase their problem-solving skills. These and other topics can be found on this web site.
