Collegiate Objective

My personal goals have changed from the start of my very first year to the end of my fourth year here at Western. I came from high school as the Valedictorian of my graduating class, planned on being at the top of my class in college, and owning my own business with my identical twin sister after graduation. Those things soon changed right after my very first semester when I barely got a 3.2, which was the lowest it had ever been in my life. I didn’t know if I was in the right major anymore and it made me question what I really wanted to do with my life. I went through three different major changes before deciding on a major that really held my interest and made me happy. I then set a goal to stick with the major I had chosen, finish school on time, and make my family proud. I hit quite a few bumps along the way by gaining and losing friends, a lost pregnancy at six months that caused me to fall into a deep depression and receive incompletes for the semester and plenty of calls to the financial aid office because my scholarships never seemed to quite post right. Everything that happened to me made me a stronger individual and I know whatever life has in stored for me that I will be ready to endure everything that comes my way.

Professionally, I would still like to own my own web designing business and also receive my Master’s degree in business management. I am currently starting to network with different organizations on campus to help me to reach my goal and get in touch with the right people. I know that my ability to be resilient, hardworking, fast learning person will allow me to reach new heights that I never knew that I would.  I know that my newlywed husband and I will persevere from our failures and bad decisions along the way. I do my best to surround us both with nothing but positivity and I won’t let anything stand in our way of reaching every goal that we have set for ourselves both professionally and personally.
