My name is Taylor Ranshaw I am 24 years old, a
pisces, and I plan to graduate from
Western Michigan University sometime next year. I am majoring in
Telecommunications Information Managment and Spanish. I am an alumnae of Alpha
Omicron Pi, the sorority I joined when I first came to the University. I met
many wonderful girls through my sorority including some of my best friends. I am originally
from Lapeer Michigan and plan to live in Washington one day after I graduate. My
favorite T.V. channel is Animal Planet!

I lived in Lapeer until I was 22 years old. It has one junior High and two
highschools. Lapeer has an estimated population of 9,000 and is located in
Southern Michigan, East of Flint, on the Flint River. Lapeer has 4 parks and
Every August Lapeer Days is held which is a fair with a classic car show, crafts, and food with rides and games for the whole family to enjoy!

One of the things I love to do is play the guitar. I have been playing for
around 4 or 5 years now and my father taught me. He is much better than I am,
although I try to be like him! I have a Martin Acoustic guitar made of Koa wood
that is actually going extinct. I love my guitar and bought it for myself as an
early christmas present one year! I mostly play older songs and I love artists
like Jack Johnson, John Mayer, India Arie, Missy Higgins, James Taylor, and G.
Love. I typically listen to all sorts of music but I love acoustic relaxing
music when I play my guitar
AAnother thing I love to do and spend alot of my time doing, is reading. My
favorite book of all time is the Twilight series byu Stephanie Meyer. On my free
time I love to read. My favorite books right now are vampire books and I am
currently in the middle of another series called Vampire Diaries. I always liked
to read, but didn't get too into it until I turned about 22. Once I moved to
Kalamazoo I started to pick up books when I was at home and found I truly enjoy
getting lost in another world with my imagination. I think it brings out the kid
in me that is always dreaming of different worlds. As for anyone who hasn't read
Twilight, I suggest reading it immediately!!

The first thing I have to say I am proud of in my life is my family. We br />
recently lost my younger sister due to Lupus complications and I could not ask
for a better support group. Our faith and strength keeps us together and there
for each other whenever needed. My mother has the biggest heart of anyone I know
and is the first one to lend a helping hand or be your shoulder to cry on. My
father is just like me. He is funny and comical, yet is also the backbone to our
family. They are amazing people who bless me every day they are in my life.
TThe second thing in my life I am proud of is my great friends. My best friend
Jamie, moved to Florida when I cam to Kalamazoo 2 years ago. We make sure to
talk on the phone every day and each year we try to see each other at least
twice. I joined a sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi when I came to Kalamazoo. I have
made great friends through this organization and plan to continue those
friendships well on into the future! I guess the bests things in life really are
free!
