Welcome to my homepage!
This site was created as an "organizer" to help me with my job search process. I have since graduated with my Master of Arts in Counselor Education (Student Affairs in Higher Education, program concentration: Administration of College Student Affairs) and accepted the position of Program Coordinator for the Select Student Support Services (4S) Program in the Division of Multicultural Affairs (DMA) at Western Michigan University (WMU).
Right now, this site is used mostly for me to maintain and enhance my web building skills and interest - something to do when I'm bored. I enjoy learning new things and enhancing my existing skills.
I love working with college students because they give me energy. And what kind of job pays you to stay in school forever? I enjoy exploring different areas within student affairs and have experience in leadership development, service programs, activities planning for English as a Second Language (ESL) students, multicultural affairs, facility management, grant writing, among other things.
My ideal job is one in which I could align my skills and experiences with the needs of the position, the department, and the institution. I have often worked in a team setting with individuals of diverse backgrounds, work styles, and expectations. My colleagues and students would describe me as an organized person that is excellent with follow-through, has good technical skills, and has a good sense of humor.
I am enjoying my new job. I learn new things every day and I am able to apply my skills and experiences to my everyday work. The "real world" isn't so bad afterall!
