Something that I reall care about and have deep emotions for is the environment. I am an 19 year old freshman and I can already tell that by the time I am 40, the earth will drastically change to a way where we will have to change our way of living. I cannot start a career when I need to worry about the basic essentials. Clean water, clean food with no GMOs, and clean air. It is important to be aware of the environment and to take care of what our own planet. We can already see rising sea levels, caused by human pollution. The primary forests are depleting att a rate of 50,000 to 100,000 trees per square km, this equates to 3 to 6 billion trees per year. That is because of us. Humans have polluted more to the planet earth in 50 years than the history of the earth itself. And we must remember we are not alone in the planet, we share the planet with millions of other species. But beause of us, a lot of animals are going extinct. Scientists estimate that around 30 to 50 percent of all species are heading toward extincions by mid-century.  Although extinction is natural, it occurs at a natural background rate of about one to five species per year. Scientists estimate we’re now losing species at 1,000 to 10,000 times the background rate, with literally dozens going extinct every day. It is important to be environmentally aware. And I can say for myself I haven't been the most environmentally cautious person. It is a problem everyone has. And I think through my career of advertising, I can bring people aware before it's too late. Because we must remember, this is the only planet we have, and it is highly unlikely to colonize in another planet in the near future. So Earth is all we have, and it is important to take care of our planet.
