The idea behind the name "Abstract" is inspired by old school hip-hop. I'm talking about Tribe Called Quest old school. I really like their messages wrapped up in great beats and witty word play. Like their music, Abstract One Clothing aspires to create visual puns which get people thinking, and to create vibrant "beat-like" designs. Abstract One Clothing is currently focusing on animal-based designs, but it will also drift into other ideas of inspiration. I purchase all my the clothes from American Apparel because of their entire ethical business model. Their entire line of clothing is made in the U.S.A. by people who have access to health insurance and job benefits. Plus, the shirts are comfortable. Props to Proper, a non-profit organization that uses American Apparel as well. My shirts are printed at GoldFish Prints; and my stickers at Sign Writers, both local Kalamazoo shops. Abstract One Clothing supports local business and volunteering and helping out the community in any way possible. Abstract was started a year ago and has a started a program called Bread4Homies, for more info on that look at the Bread4Homies tab.
