Born in Chicago, Eileen Meslar attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she attained a BFA Summa Cum Laude with an emphasis in Photography and Intermedia in December 2011. Meslar minored in Journalism and photographed for the university newspaper. She has had 4 solo exhibitions and shown her work in Florence, Chicago, and Philadelphia, and has been selected for several juried shows. In March 2013, Meslar was selected by Chicago Tribune photographer Scott Strazzante to show in a group exhibition at the Chicago Photography Center. Meslar's photographs have also been published in the Kalamazoo Gazette, Community Voices, Evanston Now, Newcomer’s Handbook to Chicago, and the Chicago Reader. In December 2012, Meslar was chosen to be the photography intern at the Chicago Reader, where she edits images for the Agenda feature and shoots photos for various stories.
