Art Hop

  • On the first Friday of every month, art invades downtown Kalamazoo.  Roughly 35 shops open their doors to host artists and their work.  It is a free and fun event for anyone, from hardcore art lovers to art newbies.  You will discover art of all styles, much of which is created right in Kalamazoo.  Each shop develops its own theme, some play music and offer snacks and beverages to enhance the experience.  The perfect date night or friends’ night out,  it’s a cultural experience you will want to relive again and again.

When: First Friday of every Month, 5pm-9pm
Where: Downtown Kalamazoo, specifically Kalamazoo on the Mall
Cost: Free, and often includes refreshments and snacks

KIA 60th Annual Art Fair

  • Hosted by the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, the art fair gathers some of the area’s most talented artists to display their work, giving out prize money to top artists.  The fair takes place once a year in the summer, and attracts roughly 60,000 people over its two day span.  This event is a great place to bring the family for a day of fun, and to experience what our community has to offer.
