Attendance and Participation
Participation of each class member is a central component of this course since a major assignment involves a group project. Participation includes both your preparation for class and your engagement in classroom activities. Attendance is a necessary part of participation since you must be present to participate in class sessions, as well as in-class group activities. Thus, a 25 point deduction will occur for each class session that you miss (may include late arrivals and early leavers). Each student is granted one "get out of class free" pass (i.e., no points deducted) for one absence provided that he/she let the instructor and his/her group members know in advance of the class that will be missed.
Midterm and Final Exams (350 points each, 700 points total)
Two exams will be used to test students' knowledge of evaluation in social work practice. The exams may be a combination of take home and in-class formats. Specific competencies to be tested are specified for each class of the course schedule. Please use this list of competencies as your study guide for the exams. Any take home portions of exams should be typed in 12 point font (single or double spacing are both OK. Students must submit original work that reflects their own ideas, understanding and wording. Do not copy text or quote ideas directly from another source. Unless otherwise specified, all exam materials are to be submitted using ONLY the student's WIN number and no other identifying information. |
