Badaga Fire-Starting Ritual
Rituals relating to fire within the Nilgiris often demand that the fire not be started with a match, but rather by a more "traditional method". Starting a fire with a fire-drill is a technique utilized by the Badagas and the Todas for particular rituals. Below one can observe a video of just such a ritual performed by the Badagas.
